What has happened to the youth of today. Is it the violent video games, the advancements in technology, the lack of strong parental role models. What ever it is it is getting out of hand. It seems that in today's society kids are running wild and in some cases being able to do whatever they want. I cant count how many times I have been blantantly disrespected in a school setting just for the main fact of telling kids they needs to get to work WHAT GIVES????
Ryan, I honestly feel like the parents in today's society do not teach their kids respect and manners like people used to. I do not think nthat parents place as much emphasis on those words "please and thank you" Kids think it's cool to disrecpt others because it's funny and people think it's cool. Sadly, our culture has allowed it to continue to get worse. I can't imagine saying to my old teachers what I see some kids say to their teachers now. One because I was raised better, and I knew I'd hear it from my dad when I got home. Therefore, I think the biggest responsibility lies on the parents.
ReplyDeleteIf I had the answers to this, I'd be a millionaire. I think it's the parents. Parents feel disrespected by society, so they teach their kids to "get even", therefore not teaching simple etiquette and kindness. Monkey say, monkey do. It's hard, as a teacher, to get kids to "unlearn" ignorance. There are also just too many kids in schools. It's nearly impossible to get all of them on the same page on one given day, so once the outbursts start, it snowballs.
